We didn’t want to go with the obvious symbolism showing an eye or anything like it in the logo. Firstly, because a logo doesn’t need to convey information it needs to be used for identification and to distil the essence of the brand. Farthermore, we wanted to avoid the feeling of being tracked by the company, because it isn’t a true reflection of what the company does. VL pay the users for their data and very upfront about it. This is one of their biggest selling points: they are actively paying user for their purchases data and making sure they remain anonymous in the process.
Finally, we went with simple geometrical shapes that are usually used in data visualisation: graph bars and data points, representing how VL converts data into knowledge.
